Children and Yoga

Of all the roles that yoga has played, perhaps one of the most important is that of building self confidence in an individual which ultimately leads to growth and development of character and personality.

This benefit of yoga can be most suitably applied to children as their future depends on their ability to perform well in their academic, professional and personal life.

Each and every child is endowed with an innate alent or gift which has to manifest in his life. It is this dormant potential which the child can discover through yoga. Moreover if a child is exposed to yoga and ashram life in his formative years he can easily acquire the mental skills to meet the challenges of life.

During the summer months Rikhiapeeth becomes a haven for children from all parts of India and the world, who visit Rikhia during their holidays to join in the multifarious activities of the ashram.

Through this they are exposed to a culture that believes in excellence of action through discipline and dedication to a higher goal of life.
