Navaratri Navaratri which literally means 'nine nights', is observed twice a year, in Chaitra (March-April) and Ashwin (October-November). The beginning of the summer and the winter are important junctions of climatic and solar influence. This is considered a very favourable time to worship Devi who is nature incarnate because at that time nature is in transition and the body and mind undergo a metamorphosis. Navaratri is a unique festival because it is also the worship of God as a Mother. The relationship with mother is the sweetest of all relations as the child is more familiar with the mother than the father because the mother is very kind, loving, tender and affectionate and looks after the needs of the child. In the spiritual field too, the aspirant has an intimate relationship with Mother Durga, that Divine luminous energy who is the source of creation. Navaratri anusthan of nine days is observed twice a year at Rikhia Peeth in worship of Shakti for the spiritual upliftment of aspirants. In both Chaitra and Ashwin Navaratri, Sri Rama is also worship along with Devi as Ramnavmi occurs in Chaitra and the killing of Ravana or Dussehra occurs in Ashwin.
