1999

During 1999 Sivananda Math constructed a three storey building, the Italian Gurukul, at Pania Pagar village for free accommodation of devotees during spiritual gatherings. At Harla Jori the Baba Mandir was renovated and electricity was installed. At Agiya village the Hanuman Mandir was constructed during April-May.

Sivananda Math Dispensary examined and treated approximately 14,000 patients, and 182 new patients were admitted into the TB project. These patients were also provided with various nutritional supplements, e.g. fortified milk powder, high protein and high vitamin preparations.

From February to July English classes were held for 26 village girls and Hindi classes were held for 24 village ladies. All the girls were presented with stationery, school bags, school uniforms, toys, games, books, clothing and accessories and the ladies received Ramayana books, sari sets, cosmetics and accessories.

Stationery, notebooks, school uniforms, drawing and painting materials, pencils cases, school bags, games, toys, text books, dictionaries, books for school libraries etc. have been distributed to the students of New Career School, Rikhia, Rikhia Middle School, Amarva, St Francis School, Deoghar and Nawadih Middle School, Nawadih. All teachers were presented with blankets, umbrellas, diaries, calendars, notebooks, stationery, Bihar School of Yoga publications and clothing.

Sivananda Math awarded a scholarship and course books to Sharada Kumari, D/o Arjun Rana, Naya Chitkat Village, Panchayat Rikhia; Matri Mandir Girls High School, Deoghar; Sweta Kumari, D/o Jainath Rao, Village Lorhia, Panchayat Rikhia, Matri Mandir Girls High School, Deoghar; Suman Bharati, D/o Ganga Singh, Siriya Village, Panchayat Rikhia, BPSC course at Deoghar; Ghaneshyam Ramani, S/o Kuso Ramani, Nawadih Village, Panchayat Rikhia, Rikhia High School.

During August, on the occasion of Lord Krishna's birthday, thousands of villagers were invited to participate in the Krishna Jhulan program held at the Akhara. Prasad was distributed to all participants. Artists, villagers and guests were presented with clothing, kitchen utensils, spiritual literature, yantras, malas, toys etc.
